Margaret Falls

At Margaret Falls, the water from Reinecker Creek cascades over 200 feet down a sheer rock face creating a natural shower.

The refreshing 15-minute walk to Margaret Falls starts on the west shore of the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake at Herald Provincial Park, just 9 miles (14 kms) east of the Trans Canada Highway on the Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road.

The trail meanders across low bridges over Reinecker Creek up a rocky chasm framed with colossal towering cedars that belong in a coastal rain forest. The spray from Margaret Falls creates a unique micro-climate that keeps the vegetation moist and allows the mosses that adorn many of the cedars to survive.
